Milk Jug Flowers

Transforming ordinary milk jugs into beautiful flower vases is a creative and eco-friendly DIY project that anyone can try. By cutting off the top portion of a clean milk jug and decorating it with paint, stickers, or ribbons, you can easily turn it into a charming container for fresh flowers. These upcycled milk jug flowers not only add a touch of whimsy to your home decor but also help reduce waste by giving new life to plastic containers that would otherwise be thrown away.

Supplies needed:

  • Empty gallon milk jug w/plastic cap
  • Wood skewer
  • Scissors
  • Glue

First, take your gallon milk jug and begin cutting out small circles of the plastic material for the petals. I needed 8 circles for my flower. These do not need to be uniform and the differences in size and shape help give it a more flower-like appearance. Glue edges together with a glue stick until they all connect.

Then, cut out a larger circle for the petals and milk top to glue against. Punch a tiny hole in the middle of this piece for the skewer to slide through.

Glue petals onto the larger milk jug circle as well as the milk top with the liquid glue. Give these a bit of time to dry completely, then slide skewer through hole.
