Red felt...Scraps of grey felt...Bone ring...Gold beads (if desired).
HOUSE . . . Starting at bottom with White, make a chain to measure 8 inches. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across until row measures 7 inches. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 5 ¾ inches. Break off.
ROOF . . . Attach Spanish Red. 1st row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd to 11th rows incl: Dec 1 sc — to dec 1 sc, work off 2 sc as 1 sc — sc in each sc across to within last 2 sc, dec 1 sc. Ch 1, turn. Break off at end of 11th row.
DOOR . . . With Spanish Red, ch 10. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. Work as for House until piece measures 2 ½ inches. Break off. Cut 4 windows, each 1 ½ inches square, from grey felt. With White embroider 2 lines at center of each window. Sew windows and door in place. Cut a triangle of grey felt, 1 ½ inches wide and ¾ inch high. Sew at top of door. If desired, decorate windows and door with gold beads; sew bird sequin on roof. Line with red felt. With Spanish Red, sc closely around bone ring. Sew to center of roof.
