Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "STAR" BLEND YARN, Article 75
2 skeins Cream or any color desired.
Steel crochet hook No. 0.

PALM SECTION: Ch 47, s d c in 3rd st from hook (sdc: yarn over hook, insert in st, pull through, yarn over and pull through all loops at one time), 1 s d c in each of the next 32 sts of ch, 1 s c in each of the next 12 sts of ch, ch 1, turn.

2nd Row. 1 s c in each of the 1st 12 s c picking up back loop of sts only (cuff), 1 double loop st in each remaining st working through both loops of sts (double loop st: wind yarn over index finger twice, insert hook in st, draw yarn through pulling yarn from under finger, drop loops from finger letting loops fall to right side of work and complete s c), ch 1, turn.

3rd Row. 1 s c in each of the 1st 3 loop sts picking up both loops of sts, 1 s d c in each of the next 30 loop sts working through both loops of sts, 1 s c in each of the next 12 s c picking up back loop of sts only, ch 1, turn. Repeat the 2nd and 3rd rows 7 times, then repeat the 2nd row once, cut yarn.

THUMB: With wrong side of mitt toward you attach yarn in 15th st from cuff on 1st row, ch 12 for thumb, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each of the next 10 sts of ch, 1 s c in each of the next 3 sts on hand part of mitt work-ing toward cuff, sl st in next st, ch 1, turn.

2nd Row. Skip the sl st, 1 s c in next st, 1 s d c in each of the next 12 sts, 2 s d c in next st (an increase at top of thumb), ch 2, turn.

3rd Row. Skip 1 st, 1 s c in each of the next 13 sts, sl st in sl st, 1 s c in each of the next 2 sts on hand part of mitt, sl st in next st, ch 1, turn.

4th Row. Skip the sl st, s c in next st, 1 s d c in each of the next 15 sts, sl st in the ch 2, ch 1, turn.

5th Row. Skip 1 st, 1 s c in each of the next 16 sts, sl st in next st, sl st in each of the next 2 sts on hand part of mitt, cut yarn.

BACK: Work 1st row same as palm section, ch 1, turn.

2nd Row. 1 s c in each of the next 12 s c picking up the back loop of sts only, 1 s c in each remaining st picking up both loops of sts, ch 1, turn.

3rd Row. 1 s c in each of the next 3 s c, 1 s d c in each of the next 30 sts picking up both loops of sts, 1 s c in each of the next 12 sts picking up back loop of sts only, ch 1, turn.

Repeat the 2nd and 3rd rows 7 times, cut yarn.

Work thumb same as on palm section. Sew sections together.

LOOP: Ch 20, sl st in 2nd st from hook, 1 sl st in each remaining st of ch, cut yarn. Sew to cuff of mitt as illustrated.
