So, why not try your hand at making these adorable Four Point Star Origami Treat Boxes and spread some joy with your handmade gifts?

You will need:

  • 6 inch by 6 inch square piece of paper. If you have 12" x 12" scrapbook paper, cut it into four 6" squares!
  • scissors (to cut paper squares)

If your paper has different colors on each side, choose which color you would like to show on the star versus the color that will show on the bottom outer part of the box. The scrapbook paper I used was plain white on the underside and patterned green on top.

For a white star, fold the paper lengthwise with the pattern/colored paper showing. For a patterned star, fold lengthwise with the white side showing.

* Note "a": Fold the paper lengthwise. Orient the paper so that the fold is at the top.

You will have a rectangle. This rectangle should show two squares, each with a diagonal crease. Look at the right square. The crease separates the square into two triangles. We need these triangles to lay on top of each other. Simply hold the right upper triangle down with your right hand. Place the pointer finger of your left hand on the diagonal crease. Use your remaining fingers to fold down the left bottom triangle

Each box can hold five Hershey's miniatures.
