TAPERED END 1
Create a magic ring, ch 1.
Row 1: 3 dc into ring, turn. 3 sts.
Row 2: Beg dc in first, 2 puff sts in next, dc in last turn. 4 sts
Row 3: Beg dc in first, 2 puff sts in sp between both puff sts (the tops of the puff sts will not be worked into here and throughout), dc in last, turn.
Row 4: Beg dc in first, dc in same st, 2 puff sts in sp between both puff sts, dc in last, turn. 5 sts
Row 5: Beg dc in first, dc in same st, 2 puff sts in sp between both puff sts, dc across. 6 sts
Rows 6-7:Beg dc in first, dc across to puff st, 2 puff sts in sp between both puff sts, dc across, turn.
Rows 8-9:Beg dc in first, dc in same st, dc across to puff st, 2 puff sts in sp between both puff sts, dc across, turn. 8 sts
Repeat Rows 6-9 to desired width. Brown scarf photo shows a DK weight yarn and has 10 sts across for a width of 2.25” before border. Red scarf photo shows a worsted weight yarn and has 14 sts for a width of 3” before border.
BODY
Row 1: Beg dc in first, dc across to puff st, 2 puff sts in sp between both puff sts, dc across, turn.
Repeat Row 1 until Body section measures between 42-46”/ 107-117 cm.
TAPERED END 2
Rows 1-2: Beg dc in first, dc2tog, dc across to puff st, 2 puff stsin sp between both puff sts, dc across, turn.
Rows 3-4:Beg dc in first, dc across to puff st, 2 puff sts in sp between both puff sts, dc across, turn.
Repeat Rows 1-4until you have 6 sts (2 puff sts, 4 dc).
Last 5 Rows
Rows 1-2: Ch 2 (does not count as a st here and throughout), dc2tog, 2 puff sts in sp between both puff sts, dc across, turn.
Row 3-4: Beg dc in first, 2 puff sts in sp between both puff sts, dc in last, turn.
Row 5: Ch 1, sk first, 3 dc in sp between both puff sts, sl st in last, do not turn, continue to border.
BORDER
Ch 1, sc evenly around entire scarf, join with a sl st to first st to complete. Fasten off and weave in ends.
FINISHING
Wet block or steam block, lay flat to dry.
