Glasses
I hate to admit this but I was gabbing on the phone and I forgot to write down exactly what I did for the glasses although I have a general idea.
I made a chain with a thin, black yarn. I think it had 8 chains. I counted about 3 chains and made a fan, slip stitched into the next chain, skipped a few chains and made another fan and slip stitched in the last chain. Play around with the fan to get the best half circle shapes. I think I did a single, half double, double, half double, single crochet stitch combinations. Embroidering the glasses on would work too.
Either make and sew on or embroider the glasses onto one of the circles. Embroider the happy smile.
Take your two circles with the face facing out and single crochet around both pieces with the face facing you. This will push the face forward a little. I attached a clasp because I noticed the students like to attach this type of thing to their backpacks. Next time, I might try doing an increase every other stitch when sewing the pieces together.
