Instructions
Using a paper cutter cut two inch thick strips from an old magazine. Each page gives three strips and about 75 pages were used to complete this project.
Fold each strip twice lengthwise to create a half inch thick strip.
Next begin rolling each strip, securing it with a tiny piece of scotch tape. Make sure you pull your roll taut as you go.
When the base was completed, apply two coats of decoupage medium, allowing it to dry completely in between each coat.
Next, continue adding strips gradually layering each round upwards. When you reach the desired height add another two coats of decoupage medium to the inside and outside of the bowl.
Drying Time
Allow your recycled magazine bowl to dry completely. This may take several hours or even overnight. Once your recycled magazine bowl is dry and sealed, you can use it to hold small items like keys, jewelry, or potpourri, or simply display it as a decorative piece. Experiment with different colors, patterns, and shapes to create bowls that suit your style and taste.
