Heart Rag Wreath

Creating a Heart Rag Wreath is not only a fun craft project but also a heartwarming addition to your home decor. This simple DIY idea is a delightful way to add a touch of handmade charm to any room, and you can customize it by choosing fabrics that match your style and color scheme. It's a wonderful way to show off your creativity and spread some love in your living space!

Materials

  • metal wire heart wreath form (from Dollar Tree)
  • rotary cutter and cutting mat OR fabric scissors
  • 1 1/4 yard of black and white flannel plaid fabric
  • Optional: faux lamb's ear greenery and burlap ribbon

Instructions

  1. Cut 75-80 2-inch x 10-inch strips of fabric. If using a rotary cutter, I found it easiest to cut 2-inch strips first. Then cut those strips into 10-inch pieces.

Tie each fabric strip around the wreath form. To to this, identify the inner, middle, and outer wire on the wreath form. Tie one fabric strip around the inner and middle wire.

Secure with a simple square knot.

Then tie the next fabric strip around the outer and middle wire. Continue to alternate between the inner two wires and the outer two wires. Never tie a fabric strip around all three levels of wire on the wreath form.

  1. Slide the fabric ties back and forth, until the wreath is evenly filled out and no wire shows through.
