Materials Needed:
- Colored paper (I used Astro Brights - it's not as thick as cardstock, but cardstock should work great too!)
- Stapler
- Paper Trimmer
Steps:
1. Cut 1-inch Strips of Paper: Start by selecting your favorite colors and cutting them into 1-inch wide strips. Get creative with your color choices – I used a lot of red and pink!
2. Fold Every Strip in Half: Take each strip and fold it in half. This will be the foundation for your heart shapes.
3. Staple the Folded Strip to Begin: To kick off your heart chain, staple the folded side of one strip. This will be the center of your first heart.
4. Create the First Heart: Bend each half of the strip in opposite directions towards the staple to form the classic heart shape.
5. Attach Another Folded Strip: Staple the fold of another strip to the ends of the already stapled heart, creating a heart within a "v" shape.
6. Form Additional Hearts: Bend each side of the "v" towards the stapled fold to create another heart. Repeat this process by attaching more folded strips until you reach the desired length for your garland.
7. Secure the Last Heart: To complete your garland, staple the ends of the last heart together without creating the "v" shape with an additional strip.
