Crochet Snail Assembly

  1. Add a small amount of fiberfill to the body and sew it closed.
  2. Sew the eyeballs and eyelids together.
  3. Attach the assembled eyes to the antennae.
  4. Sew the antennae onto the head. Insert the eyes and secure them with glue.
  5. Attach the cheek pieces to both sides.
  6. Using a single strand of black yarn, embroider the mouth.
  7. Roll up the end of the shell and secure it with positioning pins, then sew it in place.
  8. Attach the shell to the body.

Crochet Tips:

  1. Keep your color changes clean by changing colors in the last stitch of each round where indicated.
  2. Keep cheeks and eyeballs symmetrical by making both pieces at the same time.
  3. Work these antennae pieces somewhat tightly to help them stand up better.

Assembly Tips:

  1. Position the facial features before sewing - you can use pins to test placement.
  2. Use the same yarn for sewing as used in the pieces being joined for invisible seams.
