Crochet Snail Assembly
- Add a small amount of fiberfill to the body and sew it closed.
- Sew the eyeballs and eyelids together.
- Attach the assembled eyes to the antennae.
- Sew the antennae onto the head. Insert the eyes and secure them with glue.
- Attach the cheek pieces to both sides.
- Using a single strand of black yarn, embroider the mouth.
- Roll up the end of the shell and secure it with positioning pins, then sew it in place.
- Attach the shell to the body.
Crochet Tips:
- Keep your color changes clean by changing colors in the last stitch of each round where indicated.
- Keep cheeks and eyeballs symmetrical by making both pieces at the same time.
- Work these antennae pieces somewhat tightly to help them stand up better.
Assembly Tips:
- Position the facial features before sewing - you can use pins to test placement.
- Use the same yarn for sewing as used in the pieces being joined for invisible seams.
