You can customize your Easter basket with colorful ribbons, tiny flowers, or even little decorative stickers to make it even more special. Feel free to fill it with Easter treats or small gifts for your loved ones. It's a delightful craft that will surely bring smiles to everyone's faces during this festive season!

Materials

Plastic cup
Pipe cleaners
Easter grass
Ladybug embellishment
Tools
Scissors
Hot glue and glue gun

Instructions

Use your scissors to cut down from the rim of the cup toward the bottom. Do not go all the way down. The bottom of your cup is the bottom of your basket. So visualize how tall you want the basket to be, and cut down to that point. Do this all the way around the cup, cutting again and again to create a series of “fringes.”

The next step is a little tricky to put into words. I looped down each of the fringes and attached it between two of the others, creating a series of loops all the way around the top of the basket. I didn’t need to glue to do this, but if you are having trouble getting the loops to stay in place, you could use glue to get them to stick. I suggest watching the video to see exactly how to do this step.

Now that your basket is ready to go, you need to attach a handle to it. To make the handle, twist two pipe cleaners around each other. I used green and yellow to create an alternating color effect. Pick any colors you want which complement your basket.

When the handle is the right size, bend it into shape and use hot glue to attach it to your basket.

You may now decorate your plastic cup Easter basket. I tied a little Easter grass to the top, and glued on a cute ladybug embellishment. You might also find other ways to decorate your basket.

The finished basket is about the right size to hold one egg, or a few candies. Any small Easter decorations you might have on hand could also fit inside.
