Materials Needed:

Body of the Purse:

Start with Blue Yarn:

Make a magic ring and chain 1.

Round 1:

Crochet 6 single crochets (sc) inside the ring.

Pull the tail to close the circle.

Place a stitch marker at the last stitch.

Round 2:

Work an increase in every stitch (2 sc in each stitch).

Total: 12 single crochets.

Round 3:

Work 1 single crochet in the first stitch, then increase in the next stitch.

Repeat all the way around.

Total: 18 single crochets.

Round 4:

Work 1 single crochet in the next 2 stitches, then increase in the third stitch.

Repeat all the way around.

Total: 24 single crochets.

Round 5:

Finish:

Ears (Make 2):

Using Blue Yarn:

Make a slipknot and chain 6.

Round 1:

Work 2 sc in the second chain from the hook, and 1 sc in the next 3 stitches.

In the last stitch, work 3 sc.

Turn your work and work 1 sc in the next 3 stitches, then increase in the last stitch.

Total: 12 single crochets.

Round 2:

Work 2 increases in the next 2 stitches, 1 sc in the next 3 stitches, increase 3 times, 1 sc in the next 3 stitches, and increase in the last stitch.
Total: 18 single crochets.

Round 3:

Repeat pattern: increase, sc, increase, sc 3, increase three times, sc 3, and finally an increase.
Total: 24 single crochets.

Slip stitch in the next stitch, chain 1, and fasten off.

Eyes (Make 2):

Using Black Yarn & 3.2 mm Hook:

Create a magic ring and chain 1.

Round 1:

Crochet 6 single crochets inside the ring.

Close the circle and change to light blue yarn.

Round 2:

Increase (2 sc in one stitch) three times.

Work 1 sc followed by 1 half double crochet (hdc) in the same stitch.

In the next stitch, work 1 double crochet (dc) and 1 treble crochet (tr) in the same stitch.

Continue with 1 dc and 1 hdc in the next stitch.

Slip stitch in the next stitch, chain 1, and fasten off.

Assembly:

Sew the purse body to the metal clasp.

Attach the ears and eyes to the body as desired.
