then ch 1 (or more depending on the stitch you work).

Granny Square (make 4)

With A, make a magic ring.
Rnd 1: Work 3 chs (these chs will work as 1st dc), 11 dc – 12 dc.
Rnd 2: With B, ch 3 (these chs will work as 1st dc), dc in the same 1st st, 2 dc in each st around – 24 dc.
Rnd 3: With C, ch 3 (these chs will work as 1st dc), 2 sc in next st, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from around – 36 dc.

Rnd 4: With B, [ch3 (these chs will work as 1st dc), 1 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc] in 1st st, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 4 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next st; rep from three times, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 4 sts, hdc in next 2 sts – 52 sts.

Rnd 5: With A, ch 2 (these chs will work as your 1st hdc), hdc in next st, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next st, hdc in next 12 sts; rep from four times – 70 sts.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

To join two squares together, insert your hook into the front loop of one of the corner chain stitches of one square, then into the corresponding stitch of the other square. Slip stitch into the next 19 stitches.Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Repeat the process to join the other two squares.

To join the two panels together, place a panel on top of the other, with the WS facing each other, and work through both layers – sc along one long side, one short side, and then the other long side, leaving the remaining short side open.
