How delightful it is to create a Painted Popsicle Stick Flower Pot! This cute and colorful craft is a wonderful way to add a personal touch to your plants. By painting popsicle sticks in vibrant hues and arranging them around a plain terracotta pot, you can easily transform it into a charming work of art. Whether you're planting succulents, herbs, or flowers, this DIY project not only showcases your creativity but also brightens up any space with its whimsical design. Why not give it a try and bring some extra cheer to your indoor or outdoor garden?
Supplies Needed:
- one emptied and rinsed-out soup can
- about 17-20 (4.5-inch long) popsicle sticks – The amount will vary depending on the size of your can. I used 17 sticks for a 15 oz. soup can
- paint – I used Crayola paints – lime green, yellow, lavender, light blue, pink
- paintbrush or sponge brush
- low-temperature glue gun or Fabri-tac glue
- soil
- flower plant
Instructions:
- Set out something to protect your work surface from paint
- Divide the popsicle sticks into groups – one group for each color of paint you have
- Paint each grouping a different color and let dry
- Glue the sticks in a colorful pattern all the way around the soup can
Gluing tip: Use a Rubberband
If you are using a tacky glue to glue the sticks onto the can, use a rubber band to hold the sticks in place while the glue dries.
