JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

Special Stitches

Cluster with 3 Double Crochets (3-cl): Keeping last loop of each st on hook, work 3 dc in st or sp indicated, yo and pull through all loops on hook.

Cluster with 2 Double Crochets (2-cl): Keeping last loop of each st on hook, work 2 dc in st or sp indicated, yo and pull through all loops on hook.

DISHCLOTH

Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, with Purple, ch 5, (tr, [dc, 3 tr] 3 times, dc, tr) in 5th ch from hook; join with sl st to 5th ch of ch-5. (17 sts)

Work continues in Rows.

Row 2: With right side facing, ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), dc in same st as joining, dc in next 3 sts, (dc, 3 tr, dc) in next (center) tr, dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next (center) tr. Leave remaining sts unworked. (15 sts)

Row 3: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 6 sts, (dc, 3 tr, dc) in next (center) tr, dc in next 7 sts. (19 sts)

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, working 3 sc in center tr (corner). (21 sc) Finish off Purple and weave in ends.

Row 5: With right side facing, join Lilac with sc to back loop of first sc, working in back loops only, [sc in next st] across, working 3 sc in center sc of corner 3-sc group. (23 sc)

Row 6: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next st] across, working (dc, 3 tr, dc) in center sc of corner 3-sc group. (27 sts)

Row 7: Ch 3, turn, * skip next 3 dc, cl-3 in next dc, [ch 3, cl-2 in 3rd ch from hook] twice, cl-3 in same dc *; rep from * to * across to corner, [ch 3, 2-cl in 3rd ch from hook] twice, skip next (center) tr, rep from * to * across, ending with skip next 3 dc, dc in last dc.

Row 8: Ch 6 (counts as first dc and ch 3), turn, [sc in top of first 2-cl, ch 3] across to corner, (3-cl, ch 5, 3-cl) in top of corner 2-cl, ch 3; rep from [ to ] across, ending with dc in last dc.

Row 9: Ch 3, turn, 3 dc in first ch-3 sp, [dc in next sc, 3 dc in next sp] across to corner, (3 dc, 3 tr, 3 dc) in corner ch-5 sp, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, [dc in next sc, 3 dc in next sp] across, ending with dc in last dc.

Row 10: Rep Row 4. Finish off and weave in ends.

Row 11: With right side facing, join White with sc to back loop of first sc, working in back loops only, [sc in next sc] across, working 3 sc in center tr of corner 3-tr group.

Rows 12-14: Ch 3, turn, [dc in next st] across, working (dc, 3 tr, dc) in center sc of corner 3-sc group

At the end of Row 14, DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Edging

Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn (right side facing), sc evenly around, working 3 sc in each corner; join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, working 3 sc in each corner; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
