Clothespin Christmas Angel Directions

1. After gathering supplies, use the hot glue gun to secure white ruffled trim to the wooden clothespin. Wrap the ribbon all the way up to the “neck” of the clothespin. We found our ribbon trim at Joann’s.

TIP: If your child wants to paint the “skin” of their angel doll, they need to do that before gluing on the ribbon dress.

2. Invite your child to paint eyes, lips, and hair on their dolly peg with a paintbrush, toothpick, or the wooden end of the paintbrush. We used black paint for the eyes, red paint for the lips, and yellow, brown, and black paint for the hair.

3. Shape a small piece of silver pipe cleaner into a halo. Gently glue it to the top of the angel’s head with hot glue.

4. Glue a pony bead to the back of the angel’s head. The pony bead will look like a bun!

5. Next, cut off two 4-inch lengths of white and silver ribbon. Fold the ribbons, then secure the ends with a small dot of hot glue to make wings for the angel ornament. Glue the wings to the back of the ornament.

6. Last, cut off an 8-inch loop of silver elastic cord. Tie it into a loop, then secure it to the back of the angel ornament with a drop of hot glue.

Alternatively, leave the elastic cord off the craft to make this clothespin angel the perfect addition to your handmade, kid-friendly Nativity scene.
