Materials

  • Colored paper (green)
  • Colored paper (orange)
  • Chenille stem or
  • Green wire
  • Twig

Tools

  • Glue gun (adults) or
  • Tacky glue (kids)
  • Scissors
  • Box cutter

Instructions

    1. Accordion fold two pieces of paper, folding in about half inch increments.

    2. Fold each one in half.

    3. Use the glue gun to glue the ends of the colored papers together to form a semi-circle.

    4. Glue the two semi-circles together to form a circle.

    5. Draw and cut out a circle from another orange-colored paper - about 2.5 inches in diameter. If you'd like, you can use a glass in the size you like to measure a clean circle.

    6. Glue it at the center of the accordion folded pumpkin.

    7. Using a box cutter, cut a piece of a branch about 2.5-3 inches in length.

    8. Take a chenille stem or wire and wind it around the branch to coil it.

    9. Remove it from the branch to form a vine.

    10. Glue your vine to the top of the pumpkin. If using hot glue, it should set right away. If using tacky glue, hold (or clamp) it in place until it sets.

    11. Glue the twig on top of the vine.

    12. To make your leaves: fold a green paper in half. Draw on a half leaf shape so that the center is on the fold. Cut it out. You can make a wavy edge if you'd like. Unfold and you have your leaf.

    13. Glue them next to the twig as you'd like them to be.
