Materials Needed
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in Red Heart, pumpkin.
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in Red Heart, spring green.
Piece of black felt, 3" x 3"
Piece of orange felt, 3" x 10½"*
Size H/8 or 5mm aluminum crochet hook
Sharp needle with eye big enough for yarn
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Glue Gun and cool melt glue sticks. I used 1½ sticks.
Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 4dc=1"
Finished Size: 5" x 6"

Instructions
Pumpkin
ROW 1: Ch25. Work in back lp only throughout the whole pumpkin. Slst in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next ch. Hdc in each of the next 5 chs. Dc in each of the next 8 chs. Hdc in each of the next 4 chs. Sc in each of the next 3 chs. Slst in each of the last 2 chs. Ch1, turn.
ROW 2: Slst in each of the 2 slsts. Sc in each of the next 3 sc. Hdc in each of the next 4 hdc. Dc in each of the next 8 dc. Hdc in each of the next 5 hdc. Sc in next sc. Slst in next slst. Ch1, turn.
ROW 3: Slst in first slst. Sc in next sc. Hdc in each of the next 5 hdc. Dc in each of the next 8 dc. Hdc in each of the next 4 hdc. Sc in each of the next 3 sc. Slst in each of the next 2 slst. Ch1, turn.
ROW 4-9: Repeat ROWs 2 & 3 consecutively. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
Leaves Make 2 the same.
Ch15. Slst in 2nd ch from hook & in the next ch. Sc in each of the next 2 chs. Hdc in each of the next 2 chs. Ch2. Slst in same st as last st. Ch2. Dc in next ch. Tr in next ch. Picot. 3tr in next ch. Ch3. slst in same st as slst. Ch1 over the remaining starting ch so you end up with a stem. Now you are going to work on the other side of the starting ch. Ch3. Tr in same st as last 3 tr. Picot. Tr in next st. Dc in next st. Ch2. Slst in next st. Ch1. Hdc in same st as slst. Sc in each of the next 2 sts. Slst in each of the last 2 sts. Fasten off and weave all ends into back of work.
Felt Pocket
Fold orange piece of felt so the two 3" sides are lined up evenly. Use a blanket stitch to stitch up the long sides. Leave the short side open. Set aside pocket for now.
Face: Use Black felt for face. Cut 3 triangles the same size and shape for the eyes and nose. Cut out a mouth with teeth as shown in the picture. Or be creative and make your own scary face!
Assembly:
Step 1: Glue Pumpkin to one of the pocket sides with hot glue. Make sure to completely hide the felt pocket on the back side of the pumpkin.
Step 2: Glue leaves to top of pumpkin to hide the top edge of pumpkin.
Step 3: Glue eyes, nose and mouth to front of pumpkin as shown in picture.
To Use: Slip knife, fork and spoon inside pocket and place on left side of plate on table at each place setting. You should have room for an additional salad fork and another spoon if needed.
*You will get 3 pieces from one 9"x12" piece of felt.
